The Adventures of Lee and Marla! Part 1

First let me explain how I met my best friend… *old school rewind sound*

It all started about 7 years ago.  I was dating a guy in Ohio and he had a female best friend named Lee-Amor.  I had talked with her on several occasions on the phone, but on this visit I was going to FINALLY get to meet her.  OMG!!! She was awesome, and still is!

Well, we all know how that relationship ended…lol, but I think I got the better end of the deal! For you see, there was a bit of a falling out and Lee and I remained friends even though my relationship with the guy ended.  Now, let’s fast forward time to 2008. *old school fast forward sound*

Lee and I were talking on the phone one night. We were discussing our lives and how we wanted to be different.  I told her to move to where I am, Nashville.  And the rest, as we say….is HER-story! 🙂

It’s 3 years later and I love this girl oh so much!! She’s the sister that I never had!! I mean we know what each other are thinking, like we have some kinda twin power or something! We are both crazy, but I’ll be honest…I’m the craziest!!!!

Now let’s discuss this past weekend: 11.19.2011

We left a church member’s house after dinner on Sabbath, yes we are Seventh-day Adventist,  and remembered that we and a few others were to go to a mutual friend’s lingerie bridal shower (another adventure…lol).  So we all made a quick stop at a local store…what store I will NOT tell. We made our purchases, that I’m sure the future man and wife will thoroughly enjoy, and headed to the shower.

Now, if you know Lee and I, you know that in the car the music was bumpin’!! I turned it to the XM Pop radio station and guess what was playing……………………………………yes, I’m waiting on you to guess…………………………………………….give up?!…………ok! OMG  Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up”.

Now I remember when this song came out!! It was 1989 and I was in the 2nd grade.  A friend, Carol, and I used to sing the song and joke and say that on the “oh oh oh” part she sang sounded like a seal! lol

Anywhoooo…. when the song came on boy did I turn the radio AAAAAAAAAAAAALL the way up!! I started singing and Lee started laughing.  Why was she laughing?! Well….because…..ummmm…. I knew all of the words.  Now, when I say all of the words, I mean ALL of the words.  I did NOT skip a beat!! DUUUUUUUUDE, I was on it!!

Lee was CRAAAAAAACKING up at me!! Me….I was “jammin’ on da one”!!!
