Stephanneth Adams – Author Interview: Know, Grow, Sow Part IV

Stephanneth Adams was born in Maryland to the proud parents Dr. Stenneth & Mrs. Stephanie Adams. She is a young woman that desires to use her God-given gifts to help foster the success of women on a holistic level (spiritually, psychologically, socially, and physiologically). Stephanneth has always found that expressing herself through writing & dance came naturally for her.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am the author of Life’s Journey: Woman to Woman. I love to address the issues of a woman’s soul. My passion to help women is being fostered in my pursuit to become a Women’s Health Certified Nurse Practitioner (2012). Through my health studies I learn the physiological and social needs of women. Being a woman myself, I understand that women struggle with various issues. Through faith and the teachings of God’s principles, I’ve learned basic life tips that will help any woman live her life on purpose. These teachings also help young women build a foundation for a bright future

What do you do when you are not writing?

When I am not writing, I am doing lots of school work and providing care to many women. I also am a church girl and love to get involved in ministry. Helping people is my passion. Of course when school is finished, I’ll go back to having a social life. Can someone say, finally!

When did you first start writing and when did you finish your first book?

Well, I began writing as a little girl. It’s been a part of who I am. Then in college my professors would say to me that I should write research articles and etc. because I wrote well (scientifically speaking). The big motivation came in 2007 when I experienced my one and only heart break. I finally knew what soul pain was and realized the things that women go through. This fueled my passion to write and tell every young woman that no matter who or what comes against you, YOU’RE a WINNER!

Where do you get your ideas?

My ideas come from personal and others life’s experiences. The depth of my ideas comes from my personal relationship with my creator who has taught me many life lessons.

Do you ever experience writer’s block?

When I was going through my editing process, I SURE DID! I would say that it wasn’t a block per se, it was more so a frustration of constantly perfecting what was being said. My first book couldn’t be crap you know! It had to be worth it for both the reader and I.

Is there any particular author or book that influenced you in any way either growing up or as an adult?

Yep, the BIBLE has so much truth and wisdom that it’s ridiculous. It has the answers to every question. I also listen a lot to T.D. Jakes and other TV evangelist.

Can you tell us about your challenges in getting your first book published?

Can I say one word? EDITING! That speaks in and of itself. Authors know exactly what I mean by that one word.

If you had to go back and do it all over, is there any aspect of your novel or getting it published that you would change?

It was a journey for me, just like the book will be a journey for others to take. I’m not sure of anything else, other than hiring a PR professional.

How do you market your work? What avenues have you found to work best for your genre?

I have a website, Facebook group, family, friends, internet blogging sites, radio shows. I will begin doing engagements and go through church avenues.

Can you tell us about your upcoming book?

This new read is filled with inspiration and personal empowerment to become a woman who lives her life with PURPOSE! You will be given spiritual based life tips as the author takes you on a journey through the winding paths of a woman’s life. We’ll talk about love, preparing for marriage, forgiveness, sex, letting go of your past, and the God Connection. At the end of each chapter, life quotes, points to ponder, group facilitated discussion questions, and personal journaling tips are provided.

*Don’t miss out on this sweet NEW destiny into purposeful living!

How did you come up with the title?

I was going on a journey and I thought to myself that we all do. I wanted to talk to women especially. So, why not Life’s Journey: Woman to Woman?

What project are you working on now?

Marketing Life’s Journey: Woman to Woman.

What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? What has been the best compliment?

The toughest was the beginning aspect of writing because it was hard to dedicate time to it while going to grad school, but it was completed. I’m sure many people thought I was joking when I said that I was writing it (lol)! The best compliment was from my parents who were amazed at what I wrote. They realized that it was actually really good and wanted to purchase it for Christmas gifts this year! Others have said how proud they are of my progress in life.

Do you have any advice to give to aspiring writers?

Write the VISION and make it plain. Fulfill your purpose. Also, be sure to hire a professional editor. They can help you with ideas on how to perfect your vision. Even when you want to quit, don’t give up!

This is a place for me to reflect on things that are happening in my life.  I might just be one person in this big world of ours, but I'm one person that's on a mission... Life:: the sequence of physical and mental experiences that make up the existence of an individual. Life is a funny thing.  It is forever changing and as it changes so will I.

  1. Great message, especially on how to perfect the VISION is to not only LISTEN to our Creator who gave you the message to share with the masses or specific audience but also hire an EDITOR. No man/woman can do it alone, we all need to seek help from someone else to get the word out.

You may ALWAYS speak your mind here! :)
