My daily life is JUST like the “Cheers” Theme Song

I was sitting at my desk today refelecting on the school year.  Today was the last day before Winter Break.

I have my iTunes playing and “Where Everyone Knows Your Name” beings to play.  I sit back and listen…then I begin to laugh.

My everyday life is JUST like the “Cheers” Theme Song.  Below I will list the lyrics to the song and how it relates to my life.

“Making your way in the world today takes everything you’ve got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn’t you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they’re always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.
You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
your name.”

Everyday I go where almost 500 people know my name. I teach!! This includes students, staff, and faculty.  I did not add in that total parents, Metro maintainance workers, the postman, delivery people, or afterschool tutorial staff.

“Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn’t you like to get away?”…. this part is funny.  Today starts Winter Break, but I wont REALLY be breaking.  I have report cards to do, lesson plans to type up, S-TEAM forms to fill out, etc.

Below you find the song that was playing.  It was redone by an AMAZING artist: PJ Morton

Skip to 0:13 to get to the song…ENJOY!

This is a place for me to reflect on things that are happening in my life.  I might just be one person in this big world of ours, but I'm one person that's on a mission... Life:: the sequence of physical and mental experiences that make up the existence of an individual. Life is a funny thing.  It is forever changing and as it changes so will I.
