Names mean everything…and you got mine WRONG!

I remember hearing this quote as a child…

My name is MARLA <—– notice the “L” in my name?!

Of course you do! But CLEARLY the rest of the world doesn’t.

Why? you might ask yourself…. Marla is not hard to spell.. M-a-r-l-a… (that is a lowercase L there people)

*sigh* In high school I had TWO names in the year book… Marla (insert last name here) and Maria (insert last name here). Even now into adulthood I get called Maria. If you can’t tell the difference….smh…

I finally asked someone and they said, “OMG…I looked so quickly and thought the “l” was and “i”. I’m sorry!!”

But today was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

I go to try to sign into my work email address and the information given in not working. I go to the email that the IT person sent to me and BAM!!! I look at the greeting… “Hi Maria” *deeeeeeeep sigh* It’s then that I realize that in the system at work they have me under both cussid names! Mi naaaame not MARIA! Mi naaaame is MAAAARRRRLAAA!! (Sorry the Jamaican accent came out because I’m upset… LOL!)

*long drawn-out sigh* When are people going to get it right?!
