Little Known Black History Fact: The Jheri Curl
The Jheri curl is a hairstyle developed in the 1970’s by white chemist and stylist Robert William Redding. Redding was also responsible for the creation of hair conditioner and PH balanced shampoo. Henry Sylvester-Williams – Today in Black History
Henry Sylvester Williams, one of five children, was born in Trinidad on 19th February, 1869. His father was a wheelwright who had originally come from Barbados. A talented student he qualified as a school teacher in 1886.
