Miss Hunter’s Annual Birthday Book Drive 2011 – Present
An online fundraiser that I started in 2011 via GoFundMe, so that people can donate money to my students for my birthday.
The money is used to purchase books for my students so that they may be able to start their own home library. With the help from family, friends, and followers on social media (Facebook, Twitter, and my Teacher Blog), I have raised over $1,000.00 each year.

One year a dearest friend of mine and man of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Adrian F., told his bosses about what I was doing and I then received a phone call from City National Bank and Barnes and Noble in Los Angeles, California.
I was being awarded the Reading is The Way Up® Holiday Book Drive Grant for 2012. Not only was I able to provide books from my 1st grade students, I was also able to provide books for all the 1st grade classes, AND receive $15,000.00 worth of books (ebook and such) for my school’s library. Can we say BEST birthday EVER?!
So I bet you’re wondering just how can you help! Well that’s simple…DONATE!
Donations will be taken via PayPal (my business account) and Plumfund. I’m starting to raise funds now for the 2018-2019 school year. So all funds will be going towards my October 29, 2018 Birthday Book Drive.

Copper Level – $5
Provide 1 high-quality book! Receive: Annual Book Drive award certificate.
Bronze Level – $10
Provide 2 high-quality books! Receive: Copper Level + personal “letter of thanks” from a student.
Silver Level – $25
Provide 5 high-quality books! Receive: Bronze Level + recognition on Facebook and Twitter.
Gold Level – $50
Provide 10 high-quality books! Receive: Silver Level + Opportunity to be interviewed for “Live. Love. Teach. Travel!” blog.
Platinum Level – $100
Provide 20 high-quality books! Receive: Gold Level + personal plaque in classroom library.
